The Anti-counterfeiting Week
Reaching its tenth edition in 2025, the Anti-Counterfeiting Week took place from 20 to 24 October, bringing together 9 events, including live-streamed sessions, across 5 days, with the aim of raising awareness among institutions, businesses and consumers of the impact of the counterfeit market, the serious implications of the phenomenon for the country's economy, and the risks it poses to health and safety.
Workshops, meetings and seminars brought together almost 100 representatives from institutions and sector experts, at both national and international level, along with law enforcement authorities, businesses, trade associations and digital platforms, fostering dialogue on strategies and tools for the prevention and combating of the phenomenon.
The opening event was dedicated to the inaugural plenary meeting of the renewed CNALCIS. This was followed by further sessions addressing a range of topics, including: enforcement authorities actions and investigative activities to suppress the phenomenon in both physical and digital markets; an analysis of the impact of Artificial Intelligence on online counterfeiting; young people's online experiences; the protection of Made in Italy in foreign markets; consumer protection against misleading practices and fake online reviews; and counterfeiting in the fashion sector. The Anti-counterfeiting week also hosted an international dialogue between the public and private sectors through the fifth edition of the "Policy Dialogue", as well as the fifth edition of the "Anti-Counterfeiting Day for Students".
On the occasion of the 2025 Anti-Counterfeiting Week, the Directorate promoted the new online communication campaign "Il Made in Italy esiste grazie alle tue scelte” (“Made in Italy exists thanks to your choices”), with the objective of raising consumer awareness of the value of Made in Italy and guiding them towards the purchase of authentic products. 5 visual assets, 4 informational carousels and, targeting younger audiences, 1 video reel produced in collaboration with the content creator of "Skuola.net" were disseminated through the institutional social media channels of MIMIT and the DGPI-UIBM, as well as on spaces made available by several web and social media platforms, including Amazon, eBay, TikTok and Alibaba.
