After three consecutive years of decline, 2024 saw an increase in the number of applications for Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs) for Medical Products (SPCs) and Supplementary Protection Certificated for Plant Protection Products (PPPs) submitted to the UIBM. All 60 of the applications were submitted online and by applicants with residence abroad.

In 2024, 36 SPCs and PPPs were issued, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
