Invalidity and revocation of trademarks

In 2024, the DGPI-UIBM received 147 applications relating to the invalidity or revocation of trademarks all through the digital platform: 84 applications for invalidity and 63 applications for revocation.

The administrative procedure used to verify whether a patent has become invalid, as an alternative to the jurisdictional process, has been operating since late 2022. In 2024, a total of 51 queries were registered for this procedure, 41 relating to revocations and 10 to invalidity claims.
