An effective regulatory framework is an essential tool for ensuring comprehensive protection and valorisation of Industrial Property titles, strategic assets for the development and competitiveness of our country, and for preventing and combating counterfeiting.

In order to function as a truly effective instrument, regulation must seek to harmonise clear rules, advanced control systems and strong collaboration between institutions and enforcement authorities.

In this context, in 2025 the DGPI-UIBM continued its activities along two lines of action: on the one hand, the monitoring of the implementation of the anti-counterfeiting provisions of the Made in Italy Law continued, in collaboration with the enforcement authorities within CNALCIS; on the other hand, the process of aligning national legislation with the GI provisions set out in Regulation (EU) 2023/2411 was brought to completion.
