Patents+ 2024

Of the 421 applications submitted at the opening of the application window on 29 October 2024, 184 were admitted to the incentives by 31 December 2025 under the Patents+ 2024 [Brevetti+ 2024] measure, promoted by the DGPI-UIBM and managed by Invitalia. 13.3 million euros were granted in 2025, against over 41 million euros requested.

In terms of the geographical distribution of admitted applications, the North-West accounts for the largest share, at 33.7%. The geographical breakdown is fairly balanced across the different areas: the North-East follows at 27% and the South and Islands at 21.2%. The Centre records the lowest percentage at 18.5%, while still maintaining a significant weight in the overall total.

An analysis of the sectors relating to the 184 applications admitted to funding reveals a strong concentration in the manufacturing and craft sector, which, with 85 units, represents the most significant area, followed by services to SMEs. The presence of the ICT sector is more limited (26), while personal services (7) and construction (5) appear more marginal.
