Protecting EU and international trademarks is the objective of the Marchi+ 2024 measure, which provides for the allocation of a total of 2 million euro through incentives in the form of capital grants. The application window opened on 26 November 2024 and closed the following day due to the exhaustion of available funds.

The incentive is aimed at micro, small and medium businesses registered and trading in Italy, that are owners of the trademark covered by the application.

The Marchi+ [Trademarks+] 2024 measure comprises two actions:

  • Measure A - requires that, as of 1 January 2021, the applicant company has filed an application with the EUIPO for registration of the trademark covered by the grant, has paid the relevant filing fees, has obtained registration of the EU trademark subject to the application with EUIPO;
  • Measure B - requires that, as of January 1, 2021, the company has filed an application for registration with WIPO of a trademark registered in Italy with the UIBM, or an EU trademark registered with EUIPO, and to have paid the filing fees; alternatively it must have filed an application with WIPO for registration of a trademark for which an application has already been filed with the UIBM or EUIPO, and must have paid the related filing fees; or, finally, it must have filed an application for designation for a trademark registered with WIPO and paid the related filing fees.
