Following on from the previous year, 2024 saw the continuation of monitoring, reporting and supplying of the grants under the UTT Call. Of the 91 participants, 82 projects requested payment of the share of funding to cover the work done during the second half of 2023.

After the checking and approval phase, all the payment requests, more than 1.2 million euros, were accepted and paid on time.

The Directorate-General managed relations with the 71 funded entities: 49 universities, 16 Scientific Institutes for Research, Hospitalization and Healthcare and 6 Public Research Bodies. The aim was to monitor the progress of project initiatives for exchange and collaboration between the research system and enterprises, as well as the creation of new, highly specialised roles such as knowledge transfer managers and innovation promoters.

In addition, the dedicated IT platform "DataUTT" underwent a major upgrade of its functions during 2024, in order to support beneficiaries more effectively and to streamline and make all project phases more efficient.
